Just below Ravello, this Amalfi Coast apartment has exclusive ocean access and three large terraces, as well as a small pool perfect for children. You will want to rent a car to make short drives to surrounding towns, where you can explore cafes, restaurants, and beaches. It is also possible to walk to Minori-- but be aware, this Amalfi Coast holiday accommodation is right on the water, which means everything is "up" from here! And don't worry about grocery shopping until you're ready... this apartment comes stocked with provisions for a couple of meals, so all you have to do is arrive and relax!

The villa in which this apartment is located sits on the water's edge, just outside of the pretty town of Minori, in an area called Marmorata which is below the mediaeval town of Ravello. The villa enjoys an exclusive waterside position and the proximity to Ravello, where all the musical and cultural events are held. This beautiful residence belongs to an old aristocratic family; it has that special charm and character typical of period homes with a rich historical background with majolica tiled floors, many ceramics, and high arched ceilings throughout. The villa is a restored paper mill that was converted a long time ago, like many others in the area, into two large private apartments. The views from the house are magnificent; the water is just below the property, with private access to the sea and three large private terraces, each equipped with lounge chairs and sun umbrellas. There are two apartments above this accommodation, one of which can be rented under the name Manso. This apartment is also connected by an internal staircase of three steps to the apartment Ceramica Balcone. The wisteria terrace belongs to Ceramica Terrace. Next door there is a hotel, great for breakfast.
Distances: Amalfi 5 Km, Minori 1.8 Km, Ravello 7 Km, Positano 20 Km, Sorrento 39 Km.
Airports: Naples (via Sorrento) approx. 90 Km. Suggested route: Freeway A3 Napoli to Salerno, exit at Angri, then through Valico di Chiunzi via Ravello (65 Km).
InteriorDescription
(200m2) There is an independent entrance 42 steps down from the road level. The apartment is on two levels and has a large terrace just outside the sitting room, ideal for al fresco meals. The terrace features a Wisteria pergola, outdoor furniture and lighting. From the shaded terrace, the entrance leads into a sitting room, which connects to the kitchen. There is a large bedroom with a window opening to the garden and a small en suite bathroom with shower. Three small steps lead to the twin bedroom (beds can be pushed together upon request) with French windows opening to a small terrace overlooking the sea. The large living room also has French windows opening to a terrace. There is a bathroom with tub located off the corridor.

Arrive & Relax: Stocked with enough food to get your group through Saturday night and Sunday, this property allows you to show up, drop your bags, and settle in without a hassle. No searching for a grocery store after that long flight, and no worrying about Sunday store closures. You can deal with the details later... after a meal and a good nights sleep! Arrive & Relax provisions include:
Dinner: Tomato sauce, olive oil, and pasta
Breakfast: Fresh fruit, eggs, and corn flakes
Lunch: Olives, cheese, prosciutto, and bread
Beverages: Mineral water, orange juice, coke, milk, coffee, and wine (red and white)
Extras: Sugar, salt, butter, jam, Nutella, napkins, and toilet paper
Extra Services: English speaking manager on call. Maid service: 2 hours midweek with change of linen on Saturday. Extra hours on request on confirmation of booking, payable locally, approximately 8 euros per hour.

Q: I'll be travelling with two elderly people in their eighties. Is there any difficulty entering/exiting the properties entrance?
A: The apartment was lovely - right on the water with wonderful views. But - there are a lot of rather steep stairs to get to/from the apartment and more leading to the pool/sea level. There are one or two other apartments in the building; I think one of them is accessible from the driveway or has only a few steps up. Maybe Rentvillas knows the names of them.

Security Deposit
- Upon arrival at the property you are required to pay to the property representative a security deposit payable by cash or traveler's checks in euros. The security deposit will be returned to you prior to your departure minus any extra charges or accidental damages to the property. The listed security deposit is: 500 EUR
Additional Expenses
- Mandatory weekly cleaning fee of: 100 EUR
- If available, telephone is extra and charged according to consumption.
- If you arrive between 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm, the following amount will be deducted from the security deposit: 25 EUR
- If you arrive between 10:00 pm and 12:00 am (midnight), the following amount will be deducted from the security deposit: 50 EUR
Other Notes
- Extra maid service is usually available upon request and is paid locally
- If available, heating is allowed by Italian law only from November 1 to April 1 with exceptions made for extreme weather
- No arrivals accepted after 12:00 am (midnight).
- If available, cook service must be arranged at least two months prior to arrival and is subject to the availability of the cook.
- CLIENTS ARE REQUIRED TO GIVE A PHOTOCOPY OF THEIR PASSPORT TO THE LOCAL MANAGER WHEN THEY ARRIVE AT THE PROPERTY.

The interior furnishings were a bit disappointing to us. We thought the beds and chairs were uncomfortable. The plunge pool would have been nice if it had water.

We went to a Chamber music concert at the Villa Rufolo in Ravello.

We loved the Ristorante Piazze della Mare in Ravello and a small beachside restaurant called Stella Maris in Amalfi - good pizzas and a great beach with lounge chairs and chair service.

Overall:
The views are stunning. The area is quite beautiful. Never met the local rep....the owner was on premise and took care of all our needs. This is a great place for spending lazy days swimming at your private landing area and enjoying meals on the terraza. It's a laid back locale, far from the hustle of Positano, but exactly what we were seeking. Beautiful....highly recommend it!
Enjoyed Most:
The views!! The size of the apartment is surprising...it's huge. (Be aware that the apartment is one of four or five in the building and the common outdoor areas are shared....not a problem...the place is huge). RIGHT on the water...you probably can't get any place with better water access. Great swimming area! Nice veranda. Fully equipped apartment. Wonderful, warm and classy owner who was present during our rental period with two of her adult children who were also very kind and warm.
Unpleasant Surprises:
Ok, the rooster next door is a pain. Maybe it only bothers city folk like us that he sometimes starts to crow at 4:30am (not every morning) and does't stop unitl 9am or so. To be honest,there were times we seriously thought about finding and killing him. No joke. I guess that it's really not that bad after you get used to him. Some people wrote about bugs and mosquitos....when we went (mid-August) we didn't run into much of a problem. There were some, but, hey, you're right on the water and it's to be expected. Ah, the knick-knacks. Ok, there are a few too many. The owner, who is a wonderful woman, has amassed quite an extensive collection. Also, shower in the master bedroom is a bit tricky.
Surrounding Area:
Close enough to walk to Minori, if you're not lazy (we were). Amalfi's nearby. There's fine dining at a place called Cap D'Orso. The bar/paninoteca across the street has pretty good food at night. Get yourself some handmade, fitted sandals in Maiori (first shoe store on your left as you enter town).
Nearby Events or Locales:
The whole coast is interesting. Short drive to Amalfi, Positano...a bit further to Sorrento and Pompeii, but easily manageable.
Our experience was not typical as we were there in the height of the Italian vacation period. All the towns were loaded with vacationing Italian families...which made everywhere you turned interesting.
Tips or Restaurants:
The restaurant across the street is worth a visit. Cap D'Orso is very good...even if the service is a bit stuffy and overdone...the food was great. Amlafi had a lot of good restaurants.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the terrazza were the highlight.
Unpleasant Surprises:
There are mosquitoes in the evenings, but there are plug in mosquito repellents and coils to keep them away. As others have noted, there is a rooster(s) next door who does not have the best sense of time.
Surrounding Area:
Hiking up to Ravello (1,312 steps!), walking into Amalfi, exploring the passageways, the Paper Museum, visits to Pompeii, Herculaneum and Paestum.
Tips or Restaurants:
Good size market on road up to Ravello, fruit and vegetables in Ravello just off the main square.
We had almost all of our meals on the terrazza since we had several enthusiastic cooks in our group. Only meal out was up in Ravello at Villa Rufollo (where they have the concerts) with an incredible view out over the hillsides to the ocean.
