Overall:
I would go back; Ii thought it was a positive experience overall....
Enjoyed Most:
The openness and italian feel.... the building itself was very nice
Unpleasant Surprises:
The bed was uncomfortable.... two twins aren't great for a honeymoon, and the sofa was uncomfortable. The heat wasn't working and we had to call the caretaker a few times.... he fixed it once, but then i couldn't manage to get it on again.... It would have been nice to have some kitchen staples supplied... salt, pepper, etc... also... there was only one roll of toilet paper.
Surrounding Area:
5 minutes to San Giovanni; it's about 30 minutes to Bellagio.... but the scenery is grand. There aren't really sidewalks so the walk is a bit dangerous.
Tips or Restaurants:
Buy kitchen staples, toilet paper.

Enjoyed Most:
The helpfulness of the owners, the well maintained property. Also appreciated having access to English language TV stations. The church bells ringing were a welcome sound and we did not find them disturbing at all.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The beds were not especially comfortable. We were in the second floor apartment and not being used to apartment living, the renters upstairs did keep us awake a few nights.
Surrounding Area:
The area is absolutely beautiful!
Nearby Events or Locales:
The property is in a small village with a church, a restaurant, and a few stores. Bellagio was within walking distance, especially easy to reach if you walked through a Villa after paying admission.
Tips or Restaurants:
We're pretty adaptable travelers, so we purchased items we needed.
Directions:
The drive to Bellagio from Lecco is quite challenging, especially after being in transit for 24 hrs. It is a very narrow road, and on Saturdays there are many bicyclists.
Check In Out:
We arrived at the property just before 3:00pm, our reported arrival time and called the owner who said the apartment would be ready at 4. When we told him we were exhausted from travel he immediately sent his daughter over to get us settled. She also arrived early as requested on our departure day.

Enjoyed Most:
It was bright and very clean and spacious. The air conditioner worked perfectly - very unusual for Italy - in our experience. The windows and sliding doors were large and had state-of-the-art locks and blinds.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The iron didn't work. There are no screens on the windows, contrary to the description. The "screens" are sunscreens only. The living room sofa was uncomfortable, and covered with an unattractive cover. There was an invasion of small ants in the bathroom, and we had to buy ant killer. The lighting in the bathroom was poor. There was no vacuum cleaner...a disaster with a dark brown rug! A fastidious person like my wife couldn't stand the accumulation of lint, etc. on the rug and the only thing available was a broom, which raised dust terribly.
Surrounding Area:
There were several good restaurants, many nice shops, a ferry to the other side of the lake, and good parking facilities. The town is very picturesque, but was overrun with tourists - not us, of course! on the weekend.
Nearby Events or Locales:
You could walk to San Giovanni Bellagio.
Tips or Restaurants:
Hand soap! Salt and pepper. Sugar. Olive oil and vinegar. Wash cloths. Tea bags. A vacuum cleaner should be provided, or at least a dust buster. A sugar bowl and cream pitcher would have been nice.
Directions:
It would be wise to point out that access to the property is via an extremely narrow alley with stone walls on both sides......a large car or a van would not have been able to get through it.
