Within walking distance to town, farmhouse accommodation in Tuscany is also near some other characteristic Tuscan hill towns, and within day trip distance of Florence.

Farmhouse (500 m a.s.l.) well restored and split into 3 apartments . Panoramic views. Peaceful position. Each apartment has its own equipped and private outdoor area and, shared, swimming-pool (6x12) (15/5-30/9) and table tennis. Access along 700 m of dirt track road. Comfortably and tastefully furnished with some period pieces. Baby bed available upon request.Parking.

Enjoyed Most:
The view, the swimming pool, the thick walls, and shutters to keep the heat out, the location, the peace and quiet.
Unpleasant Surprises:
No proper freezer, only 2 ice sections in the fridge, one of which did not have a door, so we could not even store ice cream. The mosquito nets in the windows are not very well fitted so the mosquitoes do get in.
Surrounding Area:
Very well located. Some of the less well known towns are lovely, e.g. Colle Val d'Elsa, Monte Riggione, Volterra are well worth visiting
Nearby Events or Locales:
Barberino Val d'Elsa is a nice walk, and there was a reasonable restaurant with wonderful views over to 'our' property, and the village provided a wonderful skyline view for us.
Tips or Restaurants:
Our best food was on the left on the road to Poggibonsi, can't remember the name. Avoid Poggibonsi - it is a commerical town.

Overall:
I had read all the comments about this place before I went, and I was pleased to find that the property fulfilled and even surpassed my expectations. It's even more beautfiul than the photos.
Enjoyed Most:
It was very clean, and well equipped in the kitchen. What a refreshing find. Also, the grounds and gardens were immaculately kept, which made the view all more scenic.
Unpleasant Surprises:
When we got there in early May, Tuscany was having an unseasonable cold snap and apparently, indoor heating is not allowed after April. So we wore all kinds of layers for the first two days until it warmed up. Also, the stove had some problems with the electric starter and so it was quite tricky to get a burner up and running.
Surrounding Area:
The villa is located on a ridge, which jets out into a valley, so we had a beautiful 360-degree view! Lovely.

Overall:
It exceeded all expectations in every respect. The website photos don't do it justice.
Enjoyed Most:
The spectacular pastoral setting, the charming and spacious house, delightful nearby village, Barberino Val d'Elsa, the kind and accomodating landlady, Mrs. Bruno. Window screens have been installed, which greatly reduces the bug invasion. When sitting in the garden, we received regular visits from the local fauna, including lizards, swallows, butterflies, and sadly, wasps.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The steep gravel road in somewhat poor condition made coming and going less than pleasant and hard on the car.
Surrounding Area:
The spectacular vistas from every side of the property, and the charming nearby villages. Florence and Siena are close enough for easy day trips.
