Overall:
We loved it! It was the best part of our 3 week honeymoon. We are going back as soon as possible!!! It was the highlight of our trip!!!! We loved how close we were to the surrounding towns.
We highly recommend this villa!!!!!
Enjoyed Most:
How beautiful it was! I couldn't believe we were part of a medieval village. The grounds were so rustic and well kept. Many tourists would come up to the village during the day as they had an incredible pool and the the owners were fabulous.
Unpleasant Surprises:
There is nothing that we didn't like about the property, however, because the wall were made of stone, sometimes it was a little damp at night. We kept the window open and we were fine. The fresh air would knock you out at night!
Surrounding Area:
We loved that we were only a 15 minute walk - 3km to be exact - from the town of Gaiole. The walks were the best part of the day. As well, we rented a car for the week and drove to all the surrounding towns..Siena, San Giminigano, Radda and lots of great vinyards to visit.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Gaiole wa the main town where the villa is located, so it was a 3km walk each way. Uphill, but great exercise. We made it part of our daily walk to the grocery store each day and for cappuccinos first thing in the morning.
Tips or Restaurants:
The restaurants in Radda, which is only a five minute drive from the villa had great restaurants. Gaiole had great restaurants as well, just not as many to choose from. There was nothing we needed. Everything was supplied for us...fresh sheets, towels and all the cutlery and pots and pans.
Check In Out:
The main women who owns the property doesn't speak a word of English, but we had no problem with her. Just know that when you leave your 150 euro deposit, you lose about 30 of it, as that goes towards the final cleaning of the villa. Well worth it.

Enjoyed Most:
It was very well equipped and furnished. Anything we needed we were able to find.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The bathroom was very small but adequate - still very nice.
Surrounding Area:
The location was wondrous - it was like being in the middle of a postcard. And being close to the charming town of Gaiole was an added benefit. We enjoyed our excursions to Radda, Castello di Brolio, Siena, San Gimignano, all of which were within comfortable driving range.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Gaiole di Chianti - would have hiked it if we would have stayed the whole week, but we had too much else we wanted to do.
Tips or Restaurants:
A little restaurant around the corner from the winery at Castello di Brolio recommended by the staff there, but NOT the one on the way to the Castle was our absolute best meal - it's definitely where the locals eat!
Directions:
The exit from the Autostrada was the Valdarno Exit and NOT the Montevarchi - we did not realize that till we went past and had to come back. The property manager did not speak English, so communication was not the easiest, but she was very nice and accommodating

Overall:
Our manager was charming and very helpful.
Enjoyed Most:
The pool area and the well stocked kitchen. The hamlet's local bar was also great.
Unpleasant Surprises:
No access to a private outdoor area. Also, we did not know that breakfast was not included in our rate. The shower is really small and there's no bathtub.
Surrounding Area:
The wonderful food and wine.
