Although situated on a large estate with other luxury villas, this rental villa in Tuscany is very private and secluded. The estate's vast private land borders a National Park so it is not uncommon to spy deer, pheasants, and other wild game. Beautifully landscaped with native flora, the private grounds of this Tuscany villa for rent include a lovely swimming pool surrounded by comfortable lounge chairs. It is an ideal spot to enjoy peace, quiet, and spectacular views of the Tuscan countryside. This is a great villa in Tuscany for a large group or family because each beautifully furnished bedroom has its own large, en suite bathroom. There are trails and dirt roads on the estate for jogging or walking. Conveniently located in southern Tuscany, destinations in Umbria such as Perugia, Orvieto, and Todi are all within reach by car or by train. Small, charming nearby Sarteano has good restaurants---an excellent choice for lunch or dinner.

(2000 acres) An 11th century abbey is the focal point of this estate. There are eleven independent, Tuscan luxury villa rentals decorated in a similar minimalist, architectural style. Each villa is separate and private from other structures, and each has a wonderful view. Casa La Lepre is a beautifully restored 16th Century stone farmhouse which overlooks a peaceful landscape of rolling hills and the Cetona Mountain. The back of the house borders the woods providing privacy and coolness during the summer. Casa La Lepre is surrounded by yellow flowering plants. The swimming pool (6m x 12m) looks out into the woods. The villa provides easy access to hiking trails.

Overall:
Perfection!!
Enjoyed Most:
Everything...especially the view from the beautiful window on the main level!!!
Unpleasant Surprises:
Nothing...this villa was perfect!
Surrounding Area:
The nearby towns are so beautiful, and the people so wonderful.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Sarteano was the closest town about 10km. We had car rentals but we did decide to walk into town one day...it took about two hours but we deliberately walked slowly to take in the scenery.
Tips or Restaurants:
We recommend this property - in fact any of the villas on this magnificent estate - without hesitation.
Directions:
Although we had a bus to pick us up and deliver us to the villa from the airport, we did rent cars through the week and the maps and information provided by the villa and Rentvillas.com was more than sufficient to help us find our way around.
Check In Out:
When we arrived everything was arranged just as requested.

Enjoyed Most:
Each bedroom had its own bathroom. The surrounding area and pool were wonderful. The added touches of flowers in the villa were great, too.
Unpleasant Surprises:
No screens on the windows, especially downstairs, and no fans. It cooled off at night but you couldn't get that coolness inside.
Surrounding Area:
All the great little villages.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring bug spray.

Overall: My experience was great. La Lepre was spacious enough. We loved the fact that each room had its own bathroom. The rooms were very spacious. The kitchen was well equipped. We found that we had everything we needed. The pool was wonderful and is close to the house which was convenient. Enjoyed Most: We enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and the proximity to Rome, Florence,
and many nearby hilltowns. Tips or Restaurants: La Giara in Sarteano was great.
