Entirely restored and modernized, this charming flat is 1.5 km from the center of Ravello, although there is a shortcut to the town square up about 200 steps. It is situated on a hillside halfway between the center of town and the cozy hamlet of Torello, on a dead-end street with little traffic. The property enjoys a pleasant setting with views overlooking the towns of Minori and Maiori. It is an ideal location for relaxing walks. The flat has a nice garden area with a bougainvillea-covered pergola equipped for al fresco dining and a lawn area. Just 100 meters away there is a small, friendly bar. There are shops and restaurants in and around the town's main square. From the street, 13 steps lead up to the terrace. From the terrace, another 13 steps lead to a roof terrace. It's two minutes by car (1.5 km) from the main square (piazza Vescovado) or 15-20 minutes on foot via a steep staircase. There is another apartment adjacent, so voices can be heard. The beach and Amalfi (6 km) are accessible by car (20 minutes) and Amalfi (6 km). Public buses leave every hour from the bus stop at the entrance to the tunnel outside the Garden Hotel (1 km). From Amalfi, boats and hydrofoils service Capri (1.5 hours), Salerno (1 hour), Positano (20 minutes), and Sorrento. Blue SITA busses cost about 1-2 euros, depending on destination. Stops are marked with a blue and white SITA sign. The small internal bus (orange mini-bus) of Positano is marked by a brown FERMATA sign. Driving times are: Ravello to Amalfi, 15 minutes; Amalfi to Positano, 30 minutes; Positano to Sorrento, 35 minutes. There is an enclosed parking area. Note: This property is suitable for 2 adults and one child.

Accessed via the terrace, the entrance leads into a small sitting area with a dining table. Up two steps and to the right there is a small sitting area. Up two more steps is another small sitting area with a sofa bed (suitable for a small child) and window overlooking the small road below and the sea. There are seven stairs to the loft, where there is a queen-size bed. To the left of the entrance and left again there is a very nice bathroom with shower. The laundry room is to the right. The narrow, but complete kitchen is to the right of the entrance. It has an oven and dishwasher. There are several levels within this charming apartment. The amenities include TV, dishwasher, washing machine, air conditioning, central heating. Maid service is available for an extra cost.

Overall:
Overall, we enjoyed it. It definitely is not a property for anyone with a small child, as there are several different levels. And the stairs to the bedroom is really a ladder, but we were OK with that. There are two outside lounge areas and a nice patch of grass, plus a rooftop clothesline with fabulous views.
Enjoyed Most:
The view and the locked parking area.
Unpleasant Surprises:
Quite a hike from town; dark bathroom.
Surrounding Area:
Lack of tourists, lots of good hiking.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Ravello was within walking distance....
Tips or Restaurants:
Don't plan on cooking while there, kitchen is only big enough for one person.
Bring good walking shoes as it really is 300 steps to town. But you will get in shape!
Directions:
We were met and escorted to the property, so it was painless.

Enjoyed Most:
The awesome view of the Mediterranean and the three different outdoor levels we had to enjoy the view from.
Unpleasant Surprises:
After coming from the Tuscany region, it was hard to be on a street with cars going by, honking etc., so we weren't used to the noise. It wasn't a big deal.
Surrounding Area:
We loved Ravello itself, small, quaint, but enough interesting things to explore for a day. We loved that there were hiking trails steps available to the neighbouring towns so that if you didn't want to take the bus you could walk I would recommend hiking one way only and taking the bus back. The location was central enough to easily take a bus to another area to explore Amalfi, Capri etc. but also not in the heart of the real touristy areas.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The centre of Ravello, which took about 10 to 15 minutes to hike up using the steps - I counted 180 steps, but probably more like 400 when you take into account that most of the steps are 2 to 5 feet apart. We walked up and down at least once a day and sometimes twice.
Tips or Restaurants:
If you plan to do laundry while you are there, bring some laundry soap. Also bring dish soap and spices. Our best meal out was lunch at Villa Maria. Outstanding cheese and ham crepe, glass of white wine, on the outdoor patio with a view to kill, for about 30 Euros for two. We also had a lovely dinner in the first restaurant you see when you get to the top of the steps when hiking up to Ravello from the Villa and turn right towards the Piazza. It's on your right. If anyone comes across the sad little cat we adopted while we were there, his head is crooked, he can't balance very well and makes some pretty unpleasant sounds when he tries to purr or eats. Please don't be afraid of him, he just needs someone to love him and feed him.

The kitchen was not very convenient, very small. The bedroom was almost dangerous and would not work for any one that would be physically challenged.
