In addition to providing a nice selection of tavernas and boutiques, both towns are within hiking distance of interesting monasteries and convents, including Ayios Ioannis Kastri (ninety minutes from Glossa), and Metamorfosis (one hour from Skopelos.) Buses service the entire island and stop within easy walking distance of most the main beaches and villages. .
