Enjoyed Most:
The view is amazing. The peace and quiet, the sweet smell of the lemon trees, the private patio and all the beautiful grounds covered with flowers.
Surrounding Area:
Ravello is fabulous if you are looking for a quiet, semi-remote location. We have never been so relaxed. The local restaurants and cafes have some of the best food I have ever eaten.
Tips or Restaurants:
We spent most of our time in the Piazza enjoying the cafes.
Directions:
The coastal roads along the cliffs are insane to drive, but beautiful.

The pool, the warm sunshine and cool breezes, the comfortable bed, the panoramic views.
Unpleasant Surprises:
Having to purchase toilet paper and dish detergent, not having a rack to dry suits and towels and clothes that we had to wash, and the 45 Euro charge for mid-week maid service.
Surrounding Area:
The hikes, the restaurants, the churches, the concert festival.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Atrani, Scala, Minori - all are within walking distance, but beware of the available maps - they are not drawn to scale!
Tips or Restaurants:
Provisions are minimal 1 or 2 rolls of toilet paper, olive oil and vinegar , and a hand-full of matches were provided.
No salt, pepper, sugar, soap, wash cloths, or bread knife were provided. It was not a problem for us, but potential renters should be aware of the number of steps that must be climbed and descended between the street and the apartment.<

There were many small towns nearby. Each morning we would hike down to one of them and then take a taxi back up to Ravello. Lovely.

Enjoyed Most:
The loaction was ideal, the views superb and the porch was our favorite "room."
Unpleasant Surprises:
The shower drains very slowly which can be a problem if you like to take long showers.
Surrounding Area:
Hiking from town to town was a workout, but the scenery can't be beat.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The town of Torello, just below Ravello to the East, had a fireworks display on the 15th of September. A patio table at the Ristorante Salvatore would have been ideal, but required a reservation, so we sat on the hillside with the locals.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring matches to light the stove and any candles you might find on the porch. Hand soap, dish soap and laundry soap are NOT provided, (we did laundry in the sink and dried it on the balcony) nor are towels for the pool.

Overall:
The property was very comfortable and pleasant. It was very clean upon arrival. The views were amazing.
Enjoyed Most:
We loved the views and the terrace the most. For two people, it was very spacious. It was homey yet had some very nice antiques.
Unpleasant Surprises:
Dealing with the owner living below was rather difficult. There were a lot of mosquitos in the evening and you have to sleep with the windows open to keep cool (there were no screens). Also, the shower drainage system needs updating.
Surrounding Area:
Ravello is simply charming and attracts fewer Americans than several of the other areas on the Amalfi coast. It's quiet and beautiful.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The classical music concerts in Ravello are a must see.

Enjoyed Most:
We enjoyed the view, patio, and music next door. The apartment was spacious. We used the kitchen to make a simple pasta meal.
Unpleasant Surprises:
I had higher expectations of it due to the cost. The living room furniture wasn't as nice as the rest of the place. The shower was small.
Surrounding Area:
There are little shops, and a bakery nearby. Traveling to the small towns nearby was nice.

What we like the best was the terrace and its endless views of the bay.

There was nothing that we disliked.

It is the most beautiful place that we have ever visited and it was not packed with tourists like some of the other towns on the coast.

Villa Cimbrone and the concerts that you can hear from it , the ceramic factory, Villa Rufolo.

The restaurant at Hotel Palumbo was excellent.

Overall:
The villa and view were wonderful.
Enjoyed Most:
The balcony with the great view of the coastline. We spent a lot of time out there. We could hear the concerts in the evening too. It was very well maintained. We felt secluded even though there were other rentals and people there.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The stairs. I had a broken ankle in a cast and it was difficult. I did get up and down the stairs twice in one day which was quite an accomplishment. The cost of this rental is high. Where was the washer for our use?
Surrounding Area:
We LOVED the village. After a week the merchants came to know us and we felt like one of the locals. I would stay there again and never venture out of the town. The concert was wonderful too.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Concerts in the square and in the evening at the Villa next door. The gardens where the concerts were held were very beautiful. The weekly market. The ride along the Amalfi coast was very lovely but not worth the trip because of the GIANT tour buses and traffic jams. Our one day trip out of Ravello made it an easy decission to just stay put. The grass was not greener on the other side. Ravello is a great destination and worth just staying there.
Tips or Restaurants:
The restaurants in the village were very good. We cooked in a few nights and the local markets were wonderful and very accomadating. They even did special orders of meat for us.

Enjoyed Most:
The view was astounding. The apartment itself was larger than we had thought it was going to be. The furnishings were attractive, the grounds lovely, and we actually got used to all those steps everyday. The owner was quite nice, and the agency was extremely nice and helpful, giving us directions to local sites.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The bed was too small and totally uncomfortable for more than one person.
Surrounding Area:
We loved everything. We enjoyed the little town of Ravello, and loved getting to know people in the shops: the butcher, the alimentari, etc. It was easy for us to travel to the other little towns on the coast and also we took a wonderful daytrip to Pompeii.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We extremely enjoyed the concerts next door. While we were there they held the installation of the new archbishop for the region - there was a celebration every night, as he traveled from village to village. It was quite exciting and historic.
Tips or Restaurants:
Be prepared to go up and down the steps to the property. The kitchen is equipped, but tiny. The bed is small. Many of the restaurants were excellent and we did not even journey to another town for dinner.

Our favorite part was the view from the terrace, the pool, and the possibility of making meals at home.
Unpleasant Surprises:
We thought the price of the property was rather high. The bed was too small for two people and not very comfortable, either.
Surrounding Area:
The village is very charming and we loved having coffee on the local square and just watching people.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We went to a wonderful outdoor concert in Ravello and travelled a bit along the Amalfi Coast.
Tips or Restaurants:
It would be nice to have mosquito repellent coils available at the house, and definately a new bed. Overall, as strange as this might sound, we were soewhat dissapointed by the quality of the food (lots of frozen fish) and had our best meals at home.

It was very hot. We had to buy a fan just to get some air flow. This was surprising considering how high the town is.
