Enjoyed Most:
Overall the experience was great. The villa had good space to accomodate both family members and guests. It was clean, comfortably furnished and the view was spectacular. The staff was attentive and did everything they could to make us welcome. Nice touches were the fresh fruit and flowers as well as the small plate of fruit and cookies left each evening. The cooking was superb and beautifully presented. Fred went out of his way to seek our preferences and try to tailor the menus to our tastes. Most meals were outside overlooking the sea, which is hard to beat.
Unpleasant Surprises:
My least favorite aspect to the villa was the fact that we were unable to walk to town and had to drive to do anything which I suppose is the tradeoff for the view and location.

Overall:
The stay there was definitely memorable.
Enjoyed Most:
Excellent views of the coastline and of Cannes.
Unpleasant Surprises:
Occasionally bothersome traffic noises from motorbikes on the roadway near the house.
Surrounding Area:
Sea views.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Miramar appeared to be the closest small town. Restaurants required a short drive.
Tips or Restaurants:
The best cuisine was actually at the villa---the chef is very talented, eager to accommodate individual requests, and very nice.

Overall:
It is on the top 5 vacation's I've ever taken, and one of the best villas I've ever rented. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
Enjoyed Most:
The comfortable villa!! Felt like home and the staff made it even more perfect.
Unpleasant Surprises:
Can't think of a thing.
Surrounding Area:
We traveled the surrounding area every day. I almost wish we could have spent more time at the villa but there is so much to do, so many great little villages to visit.
Tips or Restaurants:
We celebrated Christmas there so we brought along all that kind of thing. Everything is there, so you don't need anything, and if you do, Fred and staff are so accommodating to find it for you.

December, 2004

Enjoyed Most:
The exceptional service provided by the staff, day in and day out. Without comparison. Fred, Magalene and Martin gave us tremendous privacy while delivering tremendous service.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The driveway was difficult to navigate with more than one car, but even that seem trivial when discussing this house.
Surrounding Area:
Theoule is located centrally to all points of interest. Cannes is a stone's throw away, while St. Tropez, Monaco, Le Lavandou, Grasse are all immediately accessable.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Theoule sur Mer is walking distance, but I wouldn't walk it unless you want to be run over. As people tend to drive very fast AND look at the view at the same time. Yikes. For shopping, restaurants you're better off driving a bit further and going to Cannes.
Tips or Restaurants:
You don't need to bring anything, other than your swim wear and comfy clothes, as you go from your bedoom to the pool, to the chaise, to the table, to your room. Rinse and repeat. We had every intention to go out for dinners at recommended restaurants, but never made it. Fred is a wonderful chef and treated us to a gastronomical feast each night. What's more, is that they stock a very good selection of wine for purchase. You truly don't need or want to leave your own private Idaho. Unless, of course, you need to shop. Well, then you must leave.
Directions:
If you pass the Terre Cotta igloo on the hill, you've gone too far.

Overall:
All of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the villa. Each of the staff was a pleasure to know and did everything to make our stay a true holiday. We all would love to return.
Enjoyed Most:
Its setting and view.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The access to the driveway when approaching from it from the west.
Surrounding Area:
The magnificent views along the Corniche and we liked the town of Theoule. It was small and uncrowded.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Theoule sur Mer. Yes, we could walk to it and did.
Tips or Restaurants:
We were not motivated to seek out restaurants. Fred, our chef, provided excellent meals. Also, we had children of varied ages from five to nineteen so it was much easier to eat at home. Fred would accommodate to any special tastes.

Overall:
Fred was wonderful. He arranged any trip or sightseeing we wanted. He prepared wonderful meals, and attended to any concerns we had. His staff were polite and efficient.
Enjoyed Most:
The view was amazing.
Unpleasant Surprises:
There were times when you could hear traffic on the road above.
Surrounding Area:
The small towns were fun to go into and explore
Nearby Events or Locales:
Theoule sur mer- you need to drive to it
Tips or Restaurants:
There are many great restaurants, both well known and best kept secrets in and around the area. Hire a boat and go to St. Tropez for lunch or the day- a completely different experience from where the house is, but worth the trip to see. Bring a tennis racquet and Fred can get you court time near by.
Check In Out:
Fred is completely on top of it.

Enjoyed Most:
the staff were terrific and Fred was an amazing chef.
Unpleasant Surprises:
I liked everything!
Surrounding Area:
View, and proximity to all the great towns such as St. Tropez, Saint Paul de Vence, Monte Carlo, Nice, Cannes, etc.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Theoule Sur Mer
Tips or Restaurants:
I would recommend it in a heartbeat. We loved Paz and Fred. The entire experience was fabulous.

Overall:
Expensive, but worth it. Fred caters to every need to make sure that your stay will be perfect and it was.
Enjoyed Most:
Fred the Chef and the View. There is no better Chef and no better view anywhere!
Unpleasant Surprises:
That I had to leave.
Surrounding Area:
Touring, walking, driving, Cannes, everything. The golf was very good, too, I am told.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Theouille
Tips or Restaurants:
Who needs a restaurant when you have Fred? However, we went to La Reserve for an evening of wine and food and it was magnificant. It is just before Monte Carlo.

Enjoyed Most:
It was like having a five-star boutique hotel all to yourself. Outstanding in every way. From the location to the food to the service and ammenities, this was a holiday near perfection. Liked most The View and Fred The Chef.
Unpleasant Surprises:
That we hadn't booked a second week.gt
Surrounding Area:
Theoule sur Mer is a perfect location if you're looking for a true Cote 'd Azur villa holiday...in other words if you prefer to use the villa for more than just a place to sleep and shower. We found ourselves cancelling lunch and dinner reservations at some very well know establishments because we simply didn't see a reason to leave such a perfect spot.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Theoule sur Mer was about 2.5 - 3 miles, away 5 minutes by car. It is absolutely 'walkable' if necessary, but not recommended as the roads are fairly narrow and steep.
Tips or Restaurants:
We found Monaco, Monte Carlo to be worth a day trip, Blown away by how perfect and oppulent everything is. Cannes and Nice - crowded, hot, should see, but don't need to spend more than a morning there unless you've got a reservation at a beach club. I preferred St. Paul de Vence, Eze and Antibes for tourist shopping exploration. Antibes is a fun, old, walled town. St. Tropez was fun, but to get the chic St Trop experience, hire a boat for transport, make reservations at the right clubs, and don't bring the kids. I'd suggest planning to stay home more than you think you'll want to. Fred can and will prepare anything! As far as restaurants go there are the usual Riviera establishments like Columbe d'Or (go for lunch but bring a credit card with some credit on it, etc., but a really great place for a special dinner). If you want to get off the Riviera, there is a place called Abbaye de la Celle in the town of Celle - about 75 minute drive away into Provence. It's a Alain Ducasse boutique hotel

Overall:
The villa exceeded our expectations. We thought the size of the rooms and pool deck area would be smaller than it looked on the website, but we were very pleasantly surprised. The villa was very comfortable and the views spectacular. The service we received from Chef Fred and his staff was more than we ever expected.
Enjoyed Most:
We liked how nice and helpful chef Fred and his staff were. We couldn't wait to return to the villa every evening to sit out on the deck and be served hors d'ouvres and wine before dinner. Then move on to an unbelievable 4 course meal. It was my birthday while I was there, and chef Fred made sure I had a spectacular birthday dinner.
Events or Locales:

We visited 2 vineyards (Chateau font du broc and Chateau du Minuty) and enjoyed that thoroughly. We also spent a day in St. Tropez (I suggest going by boat or helicopter because the traffic there is awful). We had dinner in Grasse and visited St. Paul De Vence and Mougins. Both very quaint towns.
Tips or Restaurants:

We ate at La Bastide de St. Antoine in Grasse. It was an elegant dining experience but very expensive.

Enjoyed Most:
The view, the bedroom, the food, everything!
Unpleasant Surprises:
We didn't have enough information about the property prior to departure.
Surrounding Area:
We did day trips to Bros, Ballarus, Cannes, St. Paul de Vence, Monaco.
Tips or Restaurants:
Hotel Mirama Beach.
