Exterior Description

Nazare is situated in the province of Estremadura, the area surrounding the capital city of Lisbon. Between Nazare and Lisboa, the countryside is gently undulating. Villages of single story or low cottages are surrounded by tended areas of cultivation. Fields of wheat, maize, olives, vines and fruit trees grow between pine and eucalyptus trees. Along the Estremadura coast, where tall cliffs alternate with sandy beaches, there are many fishing villages, with Nazare as its jewel. Nazare has three distinct quarters: the Praia, which runs alongside the beach at the foot of the cliffs, with Sitio and Pederneira on the hills above. The large beach of fine sand, the cliffs, and the many fine restaurants make Nazare one of Portugal's main attractions. This house is ideal for day trips to sandy beaches, shopping, historical and cultural sites, and night life. Day trips to the following are possible from the house: Nazare, Alcobaca, Coimbra, Fatima, Leiria, Lisbon, Batalha, Caldas da Rainha, Obidos, ancient monasteries, Roman ruins, and thermal springs. Nazare is accessible by bus from the hamlet and by taxi or a 45-minute walk after-hours. The property is just off the EN 242 highway. This unique structure, which started out as a barn, has been added onto over the last 100 years. The result is a U-shaped set of buildings, which are all connected externally. The house has been newly renovated farmhouse with all of the modern amenities. The enclosed patio, with marble floors, trees and plants, is a nice to sunbath and relax. It is very private. There are a few neighbors nearby: two houses across the street and a farm on the west side. The ocean and sandy beaches are only 3 km away. Ample parking is available.

Interior Description

(446 m2) On one floor: The entrance leads into a spacious living room/dinning room area with comfortable seating under a skylight. There is a wet-bar (mini-fridge and sink), two sofa beds, and a fireplace. The master bedroom with a queen-size bed is large and has a view of the patio and an ensuite bathroom with shower, sink, bidet, WC, and heated towel racks. The second bedroom is small and has a standard a double bed. The third bedroom is located in the center of the U. It has twin-beds and access to a bathroom with tub (with handheld shower head), bidet, sink, WC, and heated towel racks. The window overlooks the courtyard, and there is a door leading outside. This bathroom is also used by the small double bedroom to the right of the living room. The kitchen, accessed only through the courtyard, is full equipped. It is possible to eat al fresco on the courtyard. Every room has independent heating units (water, powered by propane).
