Customer Reviews
Overall:
We had a very enjoyable time. The apartment was very clean, well-maintained and safe. Everything worked perfectly. It was attractive and comfortable. Cecile made an extra effort to accommodate our check-in and was very pleasant, knowledgeable, and helpful.
Enjoyed Most:
The convenience of this location cannot be overvalued. Historical sites, museums, shopping, and good restaurants and gelaterias all within walking distance. Also, we had the unexpected pleasure of watching the parade and football game with participants dressed in medieval costumes. It was great fun.
Enjoyed Least:
It tended to be crowded and noisy at times in the square, but then that's summer tourist time.
Surrounding Area:
The grand church of Santa Croce is right on the piazza; it was worth two visits by us.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We took Eurorail to Siena and Milan from the station, which worked well, but didn't visit other towns outside Florence.
Tips or Restaurants:
Boccadama, which is just a few steps from Gaddi, was very tasty, and we found an enoteca south of the Duomo called Enoteca Alessi on Villa della Oche (www.enotecaalessi.com) where we had an excellent lunch with beautiful ingredients. They also have a large selection of good wines for sale, and specialty food items.
Check In Out:
Cecile was very pleasant and helpful. The procedure was thorough and informative.
