This apartment is located on the edge of Praiano, a small village halfway between Amalfi and Positano, a perfect location for anyone looking to take a break from the frenetic holiday life of the larger, more popular towns. An 800 meter walk down a pedestrian path will take you to a grocery shop and a local bus stop. The cliffs on which the villa is built make a sharp drop into the sea, forming a deep gorge around the Marina di Praia beach. You can reach the beach by car, public shuttle (summer only), or by walking down a series of steep steps for about 10 minutes. Here you'll find enchanting natural scenery, characteristic cafes, and several excellent restaurants. You can also hire a boat or join the diving school! The main bus stop for busses into other towns is located on the main coastal road, about a 20 minute walk. It is marked with a blue and white SITA sign and you will need to buy your ticket at a local tobacco store before getting on.

It features a luminous, sunny, 40 m2 terrace with an outstanding view of the sea and coast. Partially shaded, the terrace includes a table and chairs for al fresco meals as well as sun lounges for just laying around! There is also a second paved garden overlooking the sea. Overall:
We couldn't have had a better time on the Amalfi coast. We loved Praiano and our villa. It was perfect and we would hope to return again some day. It was the most wonderful vacation and more than we imagined it would have been. I can't thank you enough for all your advice and input and helpfulness. You made us feel confident that we had chosen the right company to do business with. Many thanks again and again for helping to make our first trip to Italy one that we won't ever forget. Next time, however, we will start exercising before the trip!
Enjoyed Most:
Our view was magnificent! We overlooked the Mediterranean Sea. There was so much natural beauty all around us. There were flowers everywhere. We had a wonderful terrace area where we could sit and relax. There was so much outdoor room also. There was a great outdoor grill which, unfortunately, we didn't have time to use. We also had great views of the Amalfi coast. And I don't want to forget something very important...upon arrival, we found food staples in the apartment enough to make a meal that night and breakfast the next morning. That was so convenient after traveling so many hours.
Unpleasant Surprises:
To be honest, the location was very difficult. There are many steps to climb and it would be almost impossible for someone who is physically not up to the challenge to stay in this accommodation. We were advised of this going in but once there, we realized almost every trip would include many hills and steep steps that needed to be climbed. Also, we did have a problem with leaking showers.
Surrounding Area:
The surrounding area was everything we thought Italy should be. We were not in one of the touristy places. So you could get a wonderful experience of how the people move through life at a leisurely pace. It was quieter and very peaceful. Very friendly, hospitable, accommodating. We took a car service into the small town of Ravello and enjoyed a concert and another great meal. Positano and Amalfi are both beautiful and worth seeing.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Praiano was the nearest small town. You can walk to the center of town which can be a little hilly in parts or you can take a bus for 1 euro. It is very worth the trip. It was so enjoyable to visit the little specialty shops and stop for an afternoon cappuccino. All our food was so fresh and delicious from the seafood store to the market where you could buy fresh breads and meats.
Tips or Restaurants:
First thing to bring...a washcloth! Mostly anything else you might need could be purchased locally. There is so much good eating in Praiano. We tried a little restaurant at the very bottom of the cliff down by the beach. Owned by Mamma Clera. No menu to choose from you are served what Mamma makes. It was fun to be adventuresome.
Directions:
We had a driver meet us in Naples and drive us to our villa. Once there, we were met by Fortunata, who acted on behalf of the property manager. She is a doll. Always ready to answer any questions we had and solve any minor problems that came up. Also, Franco was there to help with the luggage..
Check In Out:
The check in check out process went very smoothly. No problems at all.
