About The Experience
Bring a large group or get together with your extended family – this rental villa in Piedmont is going to be a lot of fun! Not only is there great local food and fine wine, there’s also nearby thermal spas and plenty of shopping. If going out doesn’t suit your mood, splash in the private swimming pool, have a barbecue, play tennis or soccer on the court, shoot pool in the billiard room… or simply read a book in the hammock. This villa for rent in Piedmont allows you to do as much as you want or as little.
Location Description

The villa is located in Piedmont's Monferrato wine zone, a region well known for its world class vineyards, picturesque lakes and hills, and truffle tasting and festivals. This is a mecca for gourmands, with its wines, cheeses, and meats, but it is the truffles that draw people here, as in the autumn, every small town in the region holds a festival for either wine, wild mushrooms, or truffles. A short walk on a mostly flat, paved country road will take you into the village of Fontanile which has a grocery, café, and post office. Nearby Mombaruzzo has a pharmacy and shops. Acqui Terme has a Roman Aqueduct, Abbey of Saint Francis and thermal spa. This city is famous for their therapeutic thermal baths dating back to Roman times. Local spas around the baths offer a full range of services, including facial and body treatments. Ideal for daytrips are Alessandria and Asti. Asti has an annual festival, Palio d’ Asti, dating back to medieval times. A week of local food festivals culminate into a bareback horse race through the city. The races’ twenty entries each represent one of Asti’s neighboring villages. The nearest airport is in Turin.

Nearby Attractions: Fontanile (grocery, café, post office), Mombaruzzo (pharmacy, shops), Acqui Terme (Roman Aqueduct, Abbey of Saint Francis, thermal spa), Alessandria, Asti (Palio d’ Asti, festivals), Turin (airport).

Customer Reviews

Overall:
Our experience at Villa Cortese was terrific. The owner is a great hostess and we felt very welcomed. The property is lovely and the region is our favorite.
Directions:
The directions provided were from the airport in Torino. We flew into Milan Malpensa so the directions given were not relevant.

Gail, August

Overall:
We loved the house and the grounds. Having two kitchens - the second was a full summer kitchen near pool and BBQ - was a huge help for our group. We cooked in the summer kitchen every night to help keep the house cool and enjoy the summer nights.
Enjoyed Most:
The access to the outside. Lots of space for people to relax and be alone or come together. Also, lots of bathrooms!
Enjoyed Least:
No screens on the windows. I know this is an Italian thing but it was a bit unnerving with bugs at night.
Surrounding Area:
We biked everyday and the surrounding area afforded great rides!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Yes, we could walk to Fontanile. There wasn't much to offer in the town. Nizza Monferrato was about 6 Km away and it offered more.
Tips or Restaurants:
Need a sharp knife.
Directions:
We used a GPS and we would highly recommend one.
