About The Experience
This pleasant Italian farmhouse nestled in the Abruzzi countryside is great for two couples or a family with children. Relax on your own private balcony at this holiday accommodation in Abruzzi while enjoying amazing views of the surrounding hills and trees or take advantage of being in close proximity to the sparkling beaches, fabulous shops, and faster-paced cities. Dining out at one of the delicious restaurants nearby is always a possibility but so is making yourself an authentic Italian pizza with your own wood stove outside! Farm holidays in Abruzzi offer a peaceful and private accommodation, away from any loud traffic.
Location Description
Situated on the peaceful and quiet Italian countryside of Abruzzi, the town closest to this vacation farmhouse is Cepagatti, a village of 12,000 people that has a post office, grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants, and shops. Near the property is the seaside city of Pescara located along the eastern coast of Italy that is accessible via a bus stop right down the street. Pescara is a city rich in history with several libraries, museums, and monuments. It is also the hometown of famed Italian poet and novelist, Gabriele d’Annunzio, whose birthplace is open to the public. Much of Pescara was destroyed during World War II but has since been rebuilt and is now known as one of the “newest” cities in Italy. Here one can go horseback riding, wine and cheese tasting, swimming in either a pool or at the beach, or boating to the Tremiti Islands.

Exterior Description
(3,500m2) Located at the top of a long, paved driveway, this stone-built farmhouse was carefully restored to its original style and is surrounded by greenery, including fields of olive trees and orchards. It is well-gated, which allows for complete privacy of the grounds. There is a wooden patio that covers the main entrance of house and features a table with garden chairs and a small wooden sofa, suitable for six people to dine or converse outdoors. There is also a cushioned lounge swing overlooking the property. Want to try your hand at authentic Italian cuisine? A wood stove is located outside that can be used to make home-cooked pizzas and breads. A paved area provides enough space to park five standard-size cars.
Interior Description
(150m2) Ground floor: On the ground floor is a small but cozy open area with two couches and a television. It is situated in front of double French doors that open directly to the garden. This room also has a wooden table with six chairs and windows that overlook the luscious grounds of the property. The kitchen is decorated with rustic-style furniture, such as a wood table with two chairs, and, along with a fireplace, is built with bricks. It is fully-equipped with an oven, a cook-top, a microwave, and a toaster. The main bedroom has wood-paneled ceilings and a four-poster 200 cm king-sized bed. There is also a built-in bookshelf, a small vanity with a mirror, and an ensuite bathroom with a tub with a handheld shower head, a sink, a bidet and a WC. The second bedroom also features a 200 cm king-sized bed, plus an optional 100 cm single bed. The king-sized bed in this room can also be changed to two 100 cm single beds instead, making the possibility of three in total. The second bathroom, near the living room, features a shower, a sink, a bidet, and a WC. On the left hand side of the house there is a room (80m2) with a washing machine, a sink, and garden tools.

    Overall:
We loved our stay at Casa Maremonti.
    Enjoyed Most:
Daniella at Casa Maremonti was an unbelievable hostess. She had an antipasti and wine ready when we arrived and helped us for 4 days to retrieve lost luggage.
    Enjoyed Least:
    Nothing
    Surrounding Area:
The Abruzzi area was fantastic. My parents are both from this area of Italy and we met some living relatives. I saw the exact house where my father was born in a small mountain town of Fresegrandenaria. You should encourage more people to see this region.

    Overall:
This was one of the most memorable of our 7 trips to Italy, due entirely to the kindness of our hostess. After nearly 15 hours of travel, two weary and hungry people arrived in Cepagatti about 1:30 in the afternoon, a little the worse for wear. There we were greeted by the owner, la Bella Daniela, who speaks English well. Spread out on the table of the patio was a delicious lunch, complete with a bottle of the local wine. It might have been a trick of the sun, but at that moment I thought I saw a halo hovering over her head. In addition, until we were able to go grocery shopping, she had provided a welcome basket of Italian essentials -- pasta, tomato sauce, bread, and wine. Could it get better? Well, yes. The farmhouse is fabulous. Lovingly restored, charmingly furnished, fully supplied with everything a visitor needs. We've slept in 13 Italian beds and this is the most comfortable of them, hotels included! Anyone interested in Italy without tourists will love it here.
    Enjoyed Most:
Perhaps the thing we loved most about the house was the peacefulness of our surroundings, and sitting on the patio enjoying the lovely views.
    Enjoyed Least:
There was nothing to dislike. It was all wonderful.
    Surrounding Area:
It was interesting to see what small town living in Italy is like, and take in the breathtaking countryside. We are New Yorkers and our other visits to Italy have included cities, Rome, Florence, and Venice, so this was a delightful respite.
    Nearby Events or Locales:
The house is on the fringe of Cepagatti. I think most people would be able to walk there. I found it a smidge too far for comfort, but that's because I have had knee and hip replacement surgery. Most people in better shape would probably have no difficulty.
    Tips or Restaurants:
We had some excellent meals. Some good restaurant finds include In Cepagatti, La Filippina. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food was delicious. In Chieti, Ristorante Nino. In Pescara, Taverna 58. The Abruzzese antipasto is advertised for two, but it would easily feed six!
    Check In Out:
    Daniela made everything very easy.
