Overall:
I cried when we had to leave.
Enjoyed Most:
Everything! I have never had a house or hotel exceed my expectations like this one did. It was much larger than in the pictures, and the kitchen was very well equipped, though it needs better knives. If I had to pick one thing, I loved the view from the terraces and the wisteria-covered patio. You could see Mt. Vesuvius from the kitchen window, for goodness sake!
Unpleasant Surprises:
nothing
Surrounding Area:
I loved the little town of Marina della Lobra. It is a very short walk from the house. I loved the little roads or trails from the house to the water and into Massa Lubrense. It was fun just walking on these in the shade of the lemon and olive trees!
Nearby Events or Locales:
The nearest would be Marina della Lobra, but Massa Lubrense was also close, and had more stores. They were both within easy walking distance. My 6-year old wanted to walk to Massa Lubrense every night for gelato.
Tips or Restaurants:
Rent a car. You will need this more than you know. You can drive to Vesuvius and Pompeii, and drive to Sorrento to take the Ferry to any of the Islands. Parking at the marina in Sorrento for all day only cost 13 Euros. You will want to take a bus to the Amalfi-Positano area, and you can catch the bus at the train station in Sorrento.
Do not run the oven and heater at the same time. The circuit box is at ground level outside next to the garage if you blow a switch.
We loved the green grocer in Massa Lubrense. He wants to start cooking classes! If you are driving in the direction of Sorrento from the property, take a left after the gelato-bar in Massa Lubrense and follow the road like you are going to Marina della Lobra. Before you have to turn the corner you should see it on the right. He is very helpful and will give you the best produce with cooking suggestions - they were all wonderful! We bought olive oil his wife made and her jams too. Very friendly helpful people.
We liked to eat at home for dinner.
