This apartment in Florence is located in a 16th century palazzo which has recently been restored. There is a lovely stone entrance to the building, and the apartment's three large windows overlook the Piazza Santa Trinita and its famous church.

(95 m2) Second floor (with elevator): This bright, recently restored apartment is on two levels and has parquet floors and coffered ceilings.
First level: There is a comfortable living/dining room with a sofa-bed comfortable for one, a table that seats four people. There is also a fully equipped kitchenette, a bathroom (with shower), and a laundry area.
Second level (loft): The loft is built over the living/dining room. It has a master bedroom with a queen-size bed, a small study area, a spacious closet, and a bathroom (with tub).

Enjoyed Most:
Location, location, location!!!! Perfectly situated just outside the hustle and bustle of the city, yet close enough to everything. The taxi cab stand was right outside our front door - very convenient for daily excursions.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The electricity - we blew the fuses at least 6 times daily. You can only run one appliance at a time - 1 burner, 1 hairdryer, dishwasher, washing machine, etc. You couldn't make coffee and warm the milk at the same time. We had a sense of humor about it, but if you needed to do any kind of cooking on a regular basis it would be frustrating. A blown fuse required a 2 story descent to the fuse box.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We visited Arezzo and Montecatini, both an hour by train - the train station was within walking distance.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring a flashlight that attaches to your key chain - the hall light timers do not give you adequate time to get your key in the door. Hallways are very dark, even during the day. The restaurant just below the apartment was excellent.
Check In Out:
Our check-in agent was on-time, friendly and very helpful. She thoroughly explained every appliance. She also showed us the fuse box and how to operate it - turned out to be a necessity.

Enjoyed Most:
The furniture and the appliances.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The elevator was not operable for 12 days of our visit. Also, the sofa bed is more of a single bed, and the mattress is thin.
Surrounding Area:
Excellent location, nice neigborhood.
Tips or Restaurants:
Be prepared to walk up 74 steps to the apartment, in case the elevator is out of service (it is an old elevator).
Directions:
The staff was timely. Check out person was there on time, so we could catch our train.

Enjoyed Most:
The space was designed. Everything was in proportion, and all of the furniture and fixtures went together. The apartment was like a movie set. We looked around at a tastefully designed space, both downstairs and in the loft. It was all of a piece.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The kitchen could only be used for heating water or minimal cooking. It would be difficult to make a meal given the cramped space.
Surrounding Area:
We were in the heart of Florence, easy walking distance to everything.
