Two villas set on a large lawn that is completely enclosed at the foot of the hills 11 km from Lucca (all kinds of shops and antique market). Views over the countryside. Peaceful position. On the equipped lawn is the shared swimming-pool (12x6), equipped with garden furniture, outside shower and small apartment where the caretaker lives. Both villas have a separate entrance gate and a vast stone-paved area. Upon request a cook will prepare evening meals and a tour guide for Lucca and surrounding area. TINA 1 can be booked also for 7 people under the name TINA 7: in this case some of the bedrooms will be closed. Reasonably comfortable furniture. Baby-bed available

Overall:
We rented Tina 2 and we were fortunate in that we had the place to ourselves. Tina 1 was not rented during the week that we were there. So it was very quiet.
Enjoyed Most:
This centrally located villa allowed us to tour other areas of Tuscany with ease. We were very close to Pisa - 30 min, Florence - 1 hour, Cinque Terre - 1.5 hours, and Siena. We even took a few days just to linger around the pool and enjoy the beautiful grounds, and vistas the villa had to offer. All in all a very positive experience. The villa exceeded our expectations. We had a most wonderful stay in Tuscany. My favorite thing was swimming in the pool and gazing at the mountains in the distance, and the churches in the hills..mmmmm
Unpleasant Surprises:
Not one negative thing comes to mind.
Surrounding Area:
Every corner you turned gave a new breath taking view. Tuscany is beautiful.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We really used the villa as a hub and travelled to Pisa, Florence and Cinque Terre, and Sarzana to visit with relatives. We just walked to the bar for the occasional cappuccino, that was 100 meters away.
Tips or Restaurants:
We did a lot of our own cooking. We had been touring Italy for 10 days and it was nice to eat some home cooked meals. It was easy to shop for groceries, the stores were well stocked.

Enjoyed Most:
The grounds and house are beautiful. It was very peaceful and relaxing which is exactly what I was hoping for in the property. A bowl of fresh fruit and sparkling water was left for us. The caretaker did not intrude at all. When we did need him to make a phone call for us, we discovered that he does not speak a word of English.
Unpleasant Surprises:
There is no shower curtain in the upstairs bathroom which is challenging. Once the tile floors get wet, it is like walking on ice. Some of the light bulbs were burned out when we arrived. There was almost no toilet paper upon our 6:00 pm Saturday arrival. Unfortunately, the nearby grocery store is not open on Sundays. That created a bit of a challenge. We did not need to use the phone until our departure day, but it did not appear to function. We had the caretaker make the call for us from his home.
Surrounding Area:
Everything is lush and beautiful. The area is truly designed for anyone wanting to get away from it all.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring toilet paper! The Al Covo restaurant is a short distance away and is outstanding! We are vegetarians and the staff was extremely accommodating to our diet. The homemade fresh pasta is excellent.
