Overall:
The villa is beautiful...the owner has huge, gorgeous roses all around the perimeter of her pink villa. We would definitely go back to the Casa Rosa, again.
Enjoyed Most:
We were on the top floor with wonderful views of the Tuscan wine land. Each night we would sip our local Marsala and watch the sunset over the foggy mountains. The place was quite roomy and we enjoyed making Italian coffee each morning in the cute kitchen. We also bought some of the wine right there at La Casa Rosa, and had it with each of our dinners.
Directions:
Those were the only directions the whole month that didn't get us lost!! They were perfect.

Overall: This is an excellent rental for a couple wishing a central location for Northern Tuscany. The owner and her caretakers are extremely pleasant and helpful. Very happy with all aspects of the rental. Good value for us. Adequately equipped. It is off the beaten tourist path, with very few English speakers. Local roads are narrow. No public transportation close by.
Enjoyed Most: We appreciated the space, the views (360 degrees) of North Tuscan countryside and mountains.
Surrounding Area: Supermarket and small shops nearby in Monte Carlo. Lucca, and Montecatini 20 minutes away Short drive to Florence or coast. Tips or Restaurants: Good restaurant - La Nina up on the Monte Carlo ridge.

Overall: When we saw the property from the outside we thought, "How charming". The apartment, however, was a little dark because it was a loft and windows were small. But it was very clean, and had a certain appeal. As we became accustomed to the low ceilings, we enjoyed it more and more. By the end of the week, we hated to leave. It grew on us, and we loved it. Adequately equipped, charming and well maintained. The views were incredible. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. The caretaker and husband were great, even though they speak no English. The special aspect of the place is that they make wine right on the property. It was very interesting and fun to watch. We highly recommend visiting Lucca, close by, and dining there.
Enjoyed Most: The terrace was wonderful, allowing us to see in all directions.
Unpleasant Surprises: Ceilings were very low in some areas; Not recommended for tall people.
Surrounding Area: Surrounding area was perfect - rolling Tuscan countryside, quiet, rural and restful. There is a supermarket within 2 miles, and a wonderful snack bar just up the street from the supermarket.
