Malaga Villas, Malaga Apartments
The main city on the Costa del Sol, Malaga is worth a day trip from wherever you may be staying in the countryside. Check out Gibralfaro Castle, the unfinished cathedral, and the Museo de Bellas Artes---which houses some early Picassos (the artist was born here.) North of the city highlights include the limestone gorge near El Chorro and the prehistoric caves at Antequera.

Another option is to head east to Almeria, where it's still possible to find a slice of undeveloped coastline. Not so for the area west of Malaga: here lies the heavily developed resort zone the Costa del Sol is best known for. Our suggestion? Give it a wide berth and head straight for Estepona---or Gibraltar (a bit of a novelty) where you can easily jump on a ferry to Morocco..
