Lovely spot.
Enjoyed Most:
The view was spectacular. It was amazing to sit on the deck each morning and evening and see Positano and the sea. We thought we were looking at a post card, but it was our view.
Unpleasant Surprises:
You need to be prepared for the steps--there are 94 of them!
Surrounding Area:
The Amalfi coast is simply spectacular. A wonderful place to see and experience. Pompeii is a day trip, so you can combine beauty and history.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Positano is the town--everything is within walking distance....all are steps away!
Tips or Restaurants:
Learn how to navigate the local bus in Positano--it runs every half-hour and the bus stop is just down the road. The kitchen is not well equipped with normal condiments, i.e., salt, pepper, etc. If you plan to cook, there is a grocery store in the neighborhood and you can buy everything you need there. But remember that there are steps to climb with your packages in hand.

Overall:
I would go back again. This time not in the off season - March - because some of the restaurants and hotels were closed.
Enjoyed Most:
The owners were very gracious and helpful. The property was located in an excellent area with a beautiful view of the town and Mediterranean. The property was well laid out, clean, and had everything we needed.
Unpleasant Surprises:
Dining room chairs were uncomfortable as were the patio furniture. Oh, and I almost forgot, the 90 stairs to the apartment!
Surrounding Area:
The towns and the people were beautiful and friendly.
Tips or Restaurants:
Three restaurants: Cosintinos - the owner made us feel most welcome delicious soup one night, Chez Black - on the beach, and Max's - two of the best meals anywhere outstanding homemade pastas.

Owners were very accommodating.

Enjoyed Most:
This property is very clean, very spacious. Positano is magical, and you can definitely enjoy that from this property. The view is stunning. The property is so beautiful with all of it's plants and flowers. You could spend hours just sitting on the patio, enjoying everything around you. Property owners were very welcoming, very kind. They brought us cake on the first day, a bottle of wine on another day. They will arrange for cars to take you to various restaurants. We would definitely come back to this property.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The only bad thing I can say is that we had some trouble with the air-conditioning. We were in Italy during a heat wave, and Italian air-conditioning seems to be different than American air-conditioning! That being said, we were comfortable at night, and the air-conditioning issue did force us to just relax during the hottest part of the day, which we quickly fell into doing. Other than that, everything else was minor.
Surrounding Area:
Positano is really an unbelievable place. We didn't really travel too much to other towns - too many kids with us, but we very much enjoyed Positano. We rented boats, enjoyed the beach, shopped, etc.
Tips or Restaurants:
I really thought the steps would be no big deal...they are! We were in decent shape before we came, but now are in better shape. But anyone with any physical difficulties should reconsider Positano altogether. We had guests one day, and one older guest did okay going down to the beach, but I'm not sure how she would have done for a week. But, for those who are in ok shape, go to Positano...you'll love it! And bring a sense of humor. This is our second trip to Italy, and you definitely need one. You need to be able to laugh when the bathroom door handle falls off, and you are locked inside! It's just part of the adventure.

Overall:
We enjoyed our stay immensely. The weather was beautiful and the villa is very comfortable and spacious - the property managers are very gracious. The water heaters in both bathrooms don't last but ten minutes each, so be mindful of how long you linger in the shower!
Enjoyed Most:
The beautiful views and the feeling of privacy, the lush foliage around this particular area of Positano.
Unpleasant Surprises:
There were no disappointments. Being used to a king sized bed, my husband and I had to get used to the queen size in the master bedroom, but I can't really complain.
Surrounding Area:
The convenience of the grocery store about 90 steps down from the Villa. They have everything you could want, including the freshest and most delicious fruits and vegetables. Also, those 90 steps add a buffer between the villa and the noise from the traffic on the main street below.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We walked down to the beach in Positano every day. No small feat and definitely easier on the way down than up, but we enjoyed the 'hike' and were never deterred by it. You can linger up the winding stairs and slowly shop your way home!
Tips or Restaurants:
We really enjoyed our dinner at Max's about halfway down to the beach. The bread selection alone was divine! Also had the most wonderful lunch of stuffed ravioli at a little place on the outskirts of town called Cafe Positano...unassuming but delicious and a view from higher up! Also, check a day ahead with the tour operators to make sure you have a reservation if you plan to take a water taxi to Capri. Our only point of confusion was on what to do when we got to the villa...ring the buzzer at the foot of the 'villa' and tell them you've arrived! They won't come down unless they hear the bell...and it took a kind neighbor to show us where the buzzer was.
Check In Out:
Check out was a piece of cake. They carry your bags up and down for 10 euros - well worth it in my book and service was immediate.

Overall:
We loved it.. will definitely book again in the future.
Enjoyed Most:
The views are spectacular! We found the villa to be very clean and well equipped. The owner made accommodations for our third daughter so she could sleep in the same room as her sisters. We loved it!
Unpleasant Surprises:
There were a few less kitchen items, such as pots, pans, utensils than I would have liked, but not a big deal. The coffee pot did not work well, but we asked the owner for a replacement and he gave it to us within 15 minutes.
Surrounding Area:
I really liked visiting the little grocery store across the street. The employees were very gracious and helpful. It was easy to find the bus stops for the buses within Positano and also the blue bus to Sorrento and Amalfi. The shopping was fantastic!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Our very first day, we walked the entire length of the road into Positano. We walked all the way to the beach and then back up to our villa. It was an excellent walk and a great way to get a feel for the town.
Tips or Restaurants:
Our first evening at the Villa, Domenico arranged for us to have dinner at a restaurant of his choice. It was great! The son of the owner picked us up in his van and took us to the restaurant. When we finished our dinner, he then took us back to the villa - what service! The name of the restaurant was Ristorante da Costantino - fantastico!
Directions:
We found the directions to be very accurate. We hired a driver from Rome to take us to Positano and he was somewhat familiar with the area. We used the directions to help him get us to the villa and all worked out great.
Check In Out:
Domenico had someone help us with our bags upon arrival. He was very gracious and helpful.

Overall:
I could have atayed on the terrace all day every day and my vacation would have been complete. The view is that spectacular. The caretaker was extremely accommodating. We were concerned about giving him keys to the car, thinking we would not have the freedom to come and go on a whim, but he was always available and we never waited more than 5 minutes.
It is 90 stairs from the street to the villa door, so the faint of heart should stay elsewhere. We, however, loved the exercise, though, at times it was a challenge.
Enjoyed Most:
The fabulous views and our private terraces. The location was great too. It was far enough away from congested areas and right at the foot of the stairs to our villa was a wonderful wine and cheese shop that had everything we needed and the owners were so incredibly friendly and gracious.
Surrounding Area:
The beautiful scenery and the large selection of restaurants that catered to every whim - whether we were in the mood for more formal dining or pizza in a casual outdoor cafe.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Positano. Definitely within walking distance. Don't underestimate the stairs, though! Also, there is a bus stop about a block from the foot of the stairs to the villa so it is extremely easy to get around.
Tips or Restaurants:
Our favorite restaurant was Il Grottino Azzurro. It's located just a couple of bus stops up the mountain from the Villa. It's a small, family-owned and operated place and it only has about 8 tables. The food was absolutely fabulous and inexpensive. Our first dinner there, including wine was only 39 Euro. The owners are so accommodating. They even told us to come back and pay the next day as it was late.

We enjoyed the view and the outside living and dining areas.
Unpleasant Surprises:
Be prepared to have to climb the 94 stairs to the villa - and to climb up and down the hillside to shops and to the beach. It's well worth it but should be noted. I was glad it offered parking but I didn't know I had to pay for it until we left - it was an unpleasant surprise that should have been avoided.
Surrounding Area:
Trip to Capri Beach Shopping Sorrento is lovely and worth visiting as is Vesuvius and Pompeii. All within easy travel time.
Tips or Restaurants:
Be prepared to have to climb the 94 stairs to the villa - and to climb up and down the hillside to shops and to the beach. It's well worth it but should be noted.
