Overall:
Good physical condition is a must for anyone staying at this property. There are many steep steps to climb. There is a grocery store across the street from the property, which is handy.
Enjoyed Most:
The views. The gardens. The friendly people.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The bathroom location and lack of an enclosed shower. The entire bathroom gets wet. There are not enough towels and the only way to dry them after washing is to hang them on an outdoor line. We were unable to use the outdoor pool because the water temperature was too cold. We were there in October.
Surrounding Area:
Visiting other towns via boat walking and climbing the town's steps.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Towns are most easily accessed by boat or bus.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring bath soap! This apartment had a hairdryer. We enjoyed eating at Chez Black on the beach, Palazzo Murat, and especially, Bruno's. Be sure to eat outside on the sidewalk overlooking the bay. We do not recommend Constantino's, even though a complimentary van will pick you up. It was far too Americanized food and atmosphere for our tastes.
Check In Out:
Porters were available to help carry luggage up and down the steps. This was very, very helpful.

Overall:
The property, view and owners exceeded our expectations. It was simply lovely!
Enjoyed Most:
The view and the property owner. Both were superb!
Unpleasant Surprises:
The 164 steps to the room and that the bathroom that was separate from the villa. It was a bit chilly when it rained at night walking back and forth to the bathroom during the evening. (Editor's note: This is being fixed)
Surrounding Area:
Easy access to neighboring towns and islands.
Nearby Events or Locales:
You could rent a boat from Positano or take the bus. Both are very easy, convenient and affordable.
Tips or Restaurants:
You don't need to bring a thing. EVERYTHING that we needed was provided in the villa. There was even a little shop directly across the street from the villa that carried fruit, bread, meat, cheese, wine and drinks as well as general supplies. I must say that the restaurants in town were a bit disappointing. Many of them were overpriced and the food was mediocre.
Directions:
We ended up hiring a driver thanks to the help of our travel advisor. The driver was a gem. We liked him so much we hired him again on the return drive to the airport. We also learned you can take the ferry directly from Positano to Naples and then hire a taxi to the airport which is about a 20 minute drive. We prefer using a driver because it was so convenient. Please note that the buses and ferries did arrive and depart on time ALL the time. This was a surprise because we were warned that they were unreliable. Perhaps this had something to do with traveling during October and not at the peak of the travel season.

Overall:
I would recommend this property to anyone. The family who owns it make your stay truly enjoyable. We cannot wait to go back!!!
Enjoyed Most:
We liked the view over the beach town of Positano. We also liked the seclusion and spaciousness of the property.
Unpleasant Surprises:
I guess all of the stairs - there were about 500 to our villa from the beach and restaurants but it was also part of the charm. There really wasn't anything bad about the property.
Surrounding Area:
That we could go to the local grocery and get food to make meals at the villa and relax when we wanted to.
Nearby Events or Locales:
The villa was in Positano and it was within a 10 minute walk to everything.
Tips or Restaurants:
Ristorante Max was a wonderful place to go for dinner. Moderately priced for the area - but great pasta and seafood and tiramisu. On another note, I would bring comfortable walking shoes and sandals because it is the "City of Stairs" and having my Tevas saved my life.

Overall:
The owners were great.
Enjoyed Most:
The view and privacy.
Unpleasant Surprises:
No real sitting room.
Surrounding Area:
The views.
Check In Out:
Because of late arrival in Rome, plus we got lost, the owners had to stay up quite late to let us in, but they were great about it.

Enjoyed Most:
The view was fantastic...and the family was very hospitable I'm pretty sure we're part of the family now!
Unpleasant Surprises:
Of course the steps...160 to the main road...almost 500 to the beach. And there was some construction in the house above us so there was more noise early in the morning. But I'm sure this is not typical.
Surrounding Area:
Positano and the entire Amalfi Coast were wonderful. There was a nice little grocery store and fruit stand a few hundred feet up the main road.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Positano of course...500 steps down the cliff
Tips or Restaurants:
Lunch or dinner at Tre Sorrelle for pizza and beer for lunch while people watching was great. Hotel San Pietro was amazing for a drink and dinner. Le Sirenuse was a great meal also.
Directions:
We took a car service Due Golfi Limosine...very good service to and from the airport and they knew exactly where the villa was.

Overall:
The property was lovely with spectacular views. The villa is one large room with a sleeping area. It is very high up the hillside from the main beach area in Positano so definitely not for anyone who is not in shape.
Enjoyed Most:

The views!
Surrounding Area:

The Amalfi Coast is rugged and beautiful. We took wonderful day trips to Ravello and Pompeii.

Overall:
The owners are wonderful people and take very good care of their renters. And I would recommend having them cook you dinner one evening. The food is delicious and their home made wine is terrific.
Enjoyed Most:
The view and the patio with the private pool. The view from the property was breathtaking and the patio was incredibly peaceful and very private.
Unpleasant Surprises:
The number of stairs up to the property and the fact that the bathroom was outside across the patio. In all fairness I was there in March so it was a cool walk to the bathroom but I am sure it isn't an issue in the warmer months.
Surrounding Area:
Positano is the most beautiful place I have ever seen and the people are wonderful. And you are in close proximity to so many other wonderful sites, Pompeii, Capri, Sorrento, Ravello, etc.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Positano - it was a 10-15 minute walk down to the beach
Tips or Restaurants:
Suggestions - Be prepared for the climb up to the unit. The little grocery store right by the property is wonderful for all the things you need for quick meals in the unit. Good restaurants - Buca da Bacco, Trei Soleri The Three Sisters and the restaurant at the Sarceni hotel
Directions:
I had a driver who was familiar with the area so I had an advantage. Even so the directions would be easy to follow.
Check In Out:
Confirm the electrical meter reading upon arrival and departure
