Overall:
Staying in a villa is the best way to get a true experience of the Italian culture.
Enjoyed Most:
The view and host family.
Unpleasant Surprises:
Other renters could be noisy with doors, etc.
Surrounding Area:
We enjoyed the gardens and the easy access to other wonderful towns.
Tips or Restaurants:
As stated in the brochure, future renters should be over 10 and under 60 to navigate the stairs in Positano.

Enjoyed Most:
The view, the warmth of the owners, and their assistance when needed, the proximity to a great grocery store and to Positano. A very functional kitchen - pleasant to cook in.
Unpleasant Surprises:
You need to be in good physical shape to climb the stairs - this was not a problem for us. With the exception of very small bars of soap and towels of course, nothing else is provided in the bathrooms, contrary to what you would find in hotels.
Surrounding Area:
Excellent grocery store right next door. Very good restaurant about 5 minutes away. Access to "downtown" via steps - about 300 - which are right next door to the property.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring your shower gels, shampoo etc. Restaurant Bruno about 5 minutes away was very good - excellent pasta - not too expensive - recommended by the owner
Check In Out:
We were leaving at 6:30 in the morning and the owners came up to say good bye that morning - this was a very nice gesture. For our departure, the owners ordered a driver for us - this was excellent, as we were going to Naples through very winding roads. The driver was very experienced and careful.

Overall:
Mosquitoes are not a problem if you close all doors and windows before dusk and reopen after dark. We rented this villa and Pompeii next door for a group of 7, which was great because they're adjoining and share a terrace and clothes line. We preferred the second bedroom in Limoncello over Pompeii's because it had a door that could be opened to the terrace at night---Pompeii's second bedroom was an interior room with no doors or windows to outside, so stuffy and hot.
Enjoyed Most:
The owners were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. Location is great close to town, bus stops and grocery store, very private and quiet compared to places closer to center of town. Villa decor had some nice touches, like hand-painted tiles. Liked convenience of adjoining apartment for our friends with shared terrace. Plenty of closet and shelf space and villa was very clean. Liked opening doors at night to sleep for fresh air and a breeze. Fair price for the value.
Unpleasant Surprises:
Very little hot water in the bathroom with tub - not enough for one bath, and we had two people sharing the bathroom. Owners said that happens when they have a full house. Ants in kitchen and bathroom.
Surrounding Area:
Loved the clear warm water for swimming. Beach is all stones and gravel, though. Loved the boutiques and restaurants in Positano, ceramics in Ravello. Loved walking everywhere. Weather was incredible.
Nearby Events or Locales:
We were concerned that driving directions indicated that villa was 2 kilometers from turnoff for town center, but location was terrific straight up from town, a little further up than Sirenuse Hotel, and for 1 euro you can take the local bus up the hill from town to go home after shopping or dinner. Walk down into town downhill was easy. We did try to take with us everything we'd need for the day , though, to avoid having to come all the way back up more than once.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bring bath gel for bathroom with the tub and soap. Beach towels were thin. Bring waterproof flip-flops for walking to water's edge at beach. Bring area insect spray for sitting out on terrace. Don't consider using a car for day trips in high season---too much hassle to juggle cars in and out of parking spaces at steep villa driveway, and roads and traffic on Amalfi drive are hazardous. Everything is accessible by ferry or bus but need to buy tickets in advance at tobacco shop in center of town, then walk back almost all the way to house for bus stop---different bus stop than local Interno Poistano bus. Also need to reserve high speed ferry e.g., to Capri in advance. Great women's boutiques were Louise and Teresa, among others for unique designer styles that Positano is known for. Loved dinner at Bucca di Bacco, and for lunch - fresh pizza on beautiful terrace at Il Guaracino was the best we had in Italy on pathway between ferry ticket kiosks and smaller beach.

The steps were pretty tough getting up to the apartment
Surrounding Area:
The drive along the Amalfi Coast is breathtaking. The lemon groves are amazing--the lemons are the size of softballs! I loved exploring the smaller towns like Praiano, Minori and Maori.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Praiano is the closest town and it was just a few minutes' bus ride or scooter ride away.
Tips or Restaurants:
Positano is extremely expensive. A capuccino costs around 5 Euros. Head to the smaller towns where coffee and pastries cost 1.30 euros.
Directions:
Take a cab and make them find the place.

Overall:
The property was glorious! The view from the balcony gardens overlooking the ocean was magnificent. The owners of the property could not have been nicer, and treated us like family. They told us about wonderful local restaurants up in the hills and went so far as to make arrangements for us there. There is a great little grocery store right across the way from the villa.

The balcony and the views.
Unpleasant Surprises
There are no phones at the villa and although our hosts were wonderful about making arrangements a phone for local calls would be great.
Tips or Restaurants:
Skip the fancy hotel restaurants.

Overall:
One of amazement and awe. A very exciting property nestled in the limestone cliffs with a wonderful view and setting. Physical property not as impressive as area. The family who owns the villa makes you feel like "family." They took excellent care of us while leaving us alone to explore and experience on our own.

Events or Locales:
The whole area an event in itself - just taking the local bus around the town and up to the adjoining towns and down the Amalfi Coast.Taking the boat to the hotel (San Pietro)and other places.Experiencing the area by the sea.
Tips or Restaurants:
We spent time on Ischia. Would recommend it, a charming island. People everywhere extremely kind and
helpful. Capri - Worth seeing but rent a taxi and get out of the main area. Naples - museum worth visiting and bustling city. We took the metro and enjoyed spending time walking around. Pompeii - we were amazed and ended up spending all day there.

Overall:
The apartment was nicely appointed, comfortable and very well positioned with respect to the town of Positano. Views from the various patios on the property were spectacular. The owners were excellent hosts and provided valuable and insightful suggestions regarding things to do in and about the Amalfi coast. Their kind and generous hospitality made this trip all the more memorable.

Unpleasant Surprises:
As with all of Positano there are stairs everywhere. This is an unavoidable feature of this beautiful location.
Surrounding Area:
Ease of access (by water and land) to the other Amalfi towns including day trips to Capri.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Be sure to take a day long boat excursion with Salvatore e Genaro, two seasoned fishermen turned tour-guides. All trips (there are about three choices) include lunch at one of their favourite seashore restaurants together with interesting conversation and local information.
Tips or Restaurants:
As its very easy to get around the area via public/private transport. Renting a car is certainly not required nor suggested given the verticality and winding nature of the landscape.

Tips or Restaurants:
Get your legs ready for those steps. Definitely have to have a night out at the restaurant at San Pietro Hotel (Five Star fine dining). Chez Black has excellent seafood.

Overall:
This villa was fine. It was what the pictures showed, and the owners are
delightful people.
My husband had a medical problem and the owner was just wonderful, he
couldn't have been nicer, the entire family was wonderful. The villa is comfortable and there were no unpleasant surprises.
