(300 m2 of terraces) From the parking area, there is a short walk along the coastal road (200 meters), which leads to a stairway of 174 steps. At the top of the stairway, a shady path leads through a wooded area. The house is past the wrought iron gate at the end of the path. Tall cypress trees surround the tranquil area in front of the villa. At the entrance, there is a delightful solarium terrace with a beautiful view on one side of the house. This terrace has deck chairs, built-in seating, and a sun umbrella. On a slightly raised level, there is a pretty cane-covered pergola; underneath it there is marble dining table for 12 people. From this terrace, guests can enter the house either on the first floor, or by taking the external covered staircase (17 steps). It leads down to a lovely courtyard, which is partly covered by a vine pergola, and has a marble table for 12 people. NOTE: There are three different options for renting this property: guests may rent just the house (“Villa Donata” sleeps 7), the house and one studio (“Villa Donata with Studio” sleeps 9), or the house and two studios (“Villa Donata with two Studios” sleeps 11).

Enjoyed Most:
The view and the setting; the outdoor seating and dining areas. The house is gorgeous, too!
Unpleasant Surprises:
The kitchen not well equipped to cook for 10 adults. There was not a pot big enough to cook pasta for 10 and it was generally lacking in cooking utensils. Stove was not up to par. Drinking glasses--need to supply lots of glasses that are sturdy vs. fragile that break easily. Bathroom supplies...we were provided with small soap samples taken from hotels the towels could have been nicer. It would also be great to be able to play music...there were no CD players or radios.
Surrounding Area:
The Arienzo Beach Club, the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Positano. All were amazing!
Nearby Events or Locales:
Positano yes it was less than a mile
Directions:
We had a van and driver so this doesn't apply.
Check In Out:
Check in was absolutely wonderful and welcoming. But when we checked out we were charged for breaking several glasses - about 100 Euros. We were told that the glasses were antique--after the fact.
