Casa Tufo is located 9 km from the center of Positano, located on the southern coast of the Peninsula. This is a perfect spot from which to visit the neighboring Amalfi Coast towns such as Amalfi, Ravello and Praiano. It is just 5 km from Sorrento and 3 km from Piano di Sorrento shopping. Naples, Capri, Ischia and Pompeii are all within easy reach. This charming, old country house has been lovingly and carefully furnished with antiques, prints, watercolors and ceramic artworks preserving the important traditions of the Campania region. The style of the house is characteristic of the region, carved out of the hillside of volcanic rock tufo, combined with the fresh colors of blue, white and yellow used in the fabrics, wall coverings and tile. Outside you will find private gardens and terraces planted with palm trees, bougainvillea and other flowering plants. The swimming pool will be available from June 10 - September 30.
The entrance to the house is reached after passing through a private electric gate and following an olive tree and flower-lined driveway. The house is set amidst a well-manicured lawn with countless trees, and plants. There is ample parking on the grounds. A car is necessary to access Casa Tufo. From Sorrento there is boat service to Naples, Capri and Ischia. In addition the Circumvesuviana train runs from Sorrento to Naples, with stops at Pompeii and Ercolano. The Rome airport is 3 hours away. Private transfers can be arranged.

Main House: Ground Floor. The entrance opens onto a spacious dining room, seating 10-12, with a 3-seater couch in an alcove under the stairway leading up to the bedrooms. Doors open to a terrace also accessed through the living room. The spacious, fully-equipped eat-in kitchen has an oven, dishwasher and washing machine. Glass doors lead out onto the outdoor pergola with two marble-top tables seating a total of 16. The living room is up four steps. It has two comfortable sofas, one seating three and the other seating two. There are also two side chairs, a reclining chaise lounge and a working fireplace. Double doors open directly onto the trellis-covered terrace where there are numerous lounge chairs and spacious areas to relax. The master bedroom is off the living room. The queen-size bed has a handcrafted headboard. There are side chairs, an armoire and night stands. There is an en suite bathroom with tub. Also on the ground floor is a guest bathroom. First floor ten steps There is a single bedroom with an 18th Century iron bed frame and an en suite bathroom with shower 3 steps up from the bedroom. There is a queen bedroom or twin beds in brilliant yellow with a window with views of the Galli Islands. There is a reclining chaise lounge at the foot of the bed. Up 3 steps there is a charming bathroom with a shower, lace curtains and an antique ceramic sink. Double doors open onto a spacious terrace with lounge chairs. From the terrace there are steps to the second floor. Second floor: There are two twin-bedded rooms can be made into queen beds, each with an en suite bathroom with shower. There is central heating. The price includes three hours of cleaning per day (except Sunday) and final cleaning. The utilities gas, electricity, heating and telephone are extra. The double beds can be made up as twin beds, upon request.
Note: the Cottage is not available in the winter months (October 1-April 30).
Cottage (sleeps 2-3): A few meters away from the main house is an independent cottage, decorated in the style of the 1940s. There is a sitting room with a single sofa bed and a picture window. The delightful double bedroom queen-size bed has terracotta floors and a lovely en suite bathroom with shower. There is air conditioning, but not heating.
