Lake Garda, the largest lake in Lombardy, is home to a number of charming towns, including Bardolino, a popular summer resort, Malcesine, and 15th century Riva del Garda, which has a lovely harbor and many lakefront medieval palazzi. If you plan to rent one of our Verona villas, you'll have no trouble filling your itinerary: See summer opera in the ancient Arena di Verona, visit the balcony where Shakespeare set Romeo and Juliet (and visit what is claimed to be Juliet's tomb), or visit San Zeno Maggiore, a spectacular Romanesque church. Heading east from Verona towards Vicenza and Treviso, Marostica, Bassano del Grappa, and Asolo are wonderful side trips.
