This villa on Crete near Plakias is great for a family or a group of friends. With a stone barbecue and a private swimming pool, you'll enjoy just lounging around outdoors, enjoying the view from this Greek holiday villa. You can also enjoy the charm of the tiny village of Lefkogia or drive to Plakias for an afternoon in the sand. And if anyone in your group decides they need a little more action, this villa is also within an easy drive of Rethymno, where you can visit historic buildings and museums.

Location Description

This villa is located within walking distance of Lefkogia, a little seaside village with two mini-markets, two tavernas, and a bakery. In the hills there are walking paths which lead through the mountainous natural landscape to various ruins-- a perfect environment for walking, biking, or jogging. A broader range of amenities can be found in Plakias. Sitting 100 meters from the beach, this town features a long strip of beach running around the bay, with areas of both sand and pebbles. There are good spots for snorkeling and, at the far end, for nudists. The atmosphere of the town can be busy at times, and there are plenty of restaurants along with two discos and a number of bars. The town is an excellent base for walking and cycling in the quiet countryside, offering paths at every level of difficulty. You’ll also want to take a day trip to Rethymnon to visit the sixteenth century Venetian Fortezza, imposing in itself but also the location of the annual Rethymnon Renaissance Festival. If you’re interested in the history of the island you may also want to step into the Historical and Folk Art Museum for a taste of traditional Cretan ceramics, textiles, artifacts, jewelry, and clothing from across the centuries.

Exterior Description

This villa, built in 2004, is surrounded by gardens on various levels with trees, bushes, flowers, and roses. A private swimming pool (8m x 6m, 0.35-1.6m deep) has a shallow children's section and is surrounded by a terrace with sun lounges. There is also a stone barbecue and parking space for two cars.

Interior Description

(135 m2)
Ground Floor: About ten steps lead up to the entrance of this villa, where there is a living area with a fireplace, sofa, table, three armchairs, satellite TV, and a stereo. To the left of the living area, there is a kitchen, fully equipped with an electric stove, microwave, toaster, and dining table for 8. The kitchen also provides access to the veranda on the east side of the villa. This floor also has a bedroom with two 90 cm single beds. Next to the living area, there is a bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower (with handheld shower attachment).
First Floor: A wooden staircase leads to the upper floor, where a door provides balcony access with views to the west. There are three bedrooms on this floor. The first bedroom has a 150 cm small queen-size bed. The second bedroom has two 90 cm single beds. The third bedroom has two 100 cm single beds and a veranda with a view of the mountains. This level also has one bathroom with a sink, toilet, and bathtub with handheld showerhead.
