This Florence rental is located right on the Piazza Santa Croce, a large piazza with the Santa Croce church at one end with many shops, restaurants, and old palazzo on either side. All of the major sites of Renaissance Florence are within a short walk, including the Piazza Signoria, the Uffizi Gallery and the Duomo. The Santa Maria Novella train station is a 15-minute walk, and the closest bus stop is right at the base of the piazza.

The palazzo has thirteen apartments, many with views of the Piazza Santa Croce and the interior garden. The palazzo has a private Renaissance rose garden and inner courtyards, providing peaceful spots to relax. No public parking nearby. A paid parking lot is in the neighborhood, just across Piazza Santa Croce. The price varies according to car size: 20/30 euros per day.

This very light and bright apartment has an elegant and spacious living room with a frescoed ceiling, beautiful architectural details and a working fireplace. There is also a dining area with seating for five. The living area overlooks the Palazzo's private Renaissance garden. There are three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed, desk and a closet. There is a twin-bedded room which is beautifully appointed with 18th century stucco and pastel decorations. There is also a single bedroom decorated in red and white. There are two bathrooms one with bathtub and shower, sink, WC and bidet. The other bathroom has a shower, sink, WC and bidet. Just past the entrance to the apartment there is a powder room with sink and WC. The kitchen is completely built-in and features a refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, oven and washing machine. The apartment has independent heating and window unit air conditioners in the living room and master bedroom.

Unpleasant Surprises:
The air conditining was not great, there were only two portable units, one in master bedroom and one in the living room.
Surrounding Area:
It's well-located in the center of town near lots of good restaurants.
Tips or Restaurants:
Bocca Dama and Cafe Cibro were both great.

Enjoyed Most:
Location, location, location. Clean, quiet, pleasant management, helpful notebook with local info - services - restaurants. Did not need AC, but it was only in the master bedroom.
Unpleasant Surprises:
We would have to struggle to find a major complaint

Walking distance to all major sites Oltrano - it is just enough outside the heart of the tourist area to have a neighborhood feel.
Tips or Restaurants:
Wine bar on the street great for a night cap ----Bocadrama
Directions:
A picture of the outside of the building would be helpful.
The map from Rent Villa's was superb and the "Notes for the Traveler" was also helpful.
